The call for women to meet strong female characters in a book entitled "The Travels of Annie T. Hastings. The main character, Annie, is pursued by his past, to be sure. However, this obsession has produced a single woman, strong, and even eccentric elderly. As an older woman who struggled with an event in your past, when her daughter was taken from her, Annie decides to find the girl, now a woman. Annie with a tiny budget, across the country reaches its goal. But the way it faces many challenges. And with each challenge conquered, increasing the strength and vision Annie prepares for a meeting of his daughter.
A major theme that permeates the book is a matter of perception. Annie locks horns with the head nun, Sister Rose's house where Annie stays. However, the reader feels little by little since this point of view is wrong sister Annie Rose. Demonizes Annie Rose, who is only trying to help. But pride of Annie and blinds to the true intentions of the wrath of Annie Rose church. The reader must read between the lines. The reader should know that Annie is telling his story from his subjective viewpoint. Annie is not intentionally narrator bit reliable but is not reliable. And Annie is not introspective enough to understand that.
The theme of the collection is particularly true when Annie comes to Chicago and we ask our antiquities of his nieces. Certainly, the nieces trailer park trash, but Annie has overstated the value of the maple table and chest of lingerie. She does not exaggerate subterfuge because I really believe in the value of furniture, although obviously they have little value. The clowns of painting centered on the theme if they had failed. The hope that the eyes mai clowns open someday be as valuable a painting by Renoir is sufficient evidence to demonstrate that it is a modern, female version of Don Quixote.
But matters of the perception that a careful reading and the reader must be willing to read, even between the lines. One of the many levels of this book, the path Annie T. Hastings is a survey of the literature on the nature of how we as individuals, telling stories, telling our sense of truth, a limited perception. We all have a bit of Don Quixote us.
